NEWS: The Abalone is RELEASED!

I’m dressed like a 90s sitcom art teacher, I’m standing in front of bricks, I’ve got a shiny new magazine in my hands—that can only mean one thing!

Today we’re celebrating the official release of The Abalone!

That’s right, my literary arts magazine is officially out in the world. My mentor Brad and I sent out everyone’s orders on Monday. As I was packing the magazines and slapping on the order slips, it was so cool to see all the familiar names of friends from back home! Thank you all for your love and support!

But it was also such a blessing to see all the names I didn’t know. When I began this project, I didn’t have any idea if anyone would buy it or not! Especially not strangers…

At The Company, a book release (or, in this case, a magazine release) always means a steak lunch (not pictured because I ate it all). I’m so grateful to have a community of friends to celebrate with, even though I’m two thousand miles from my California home.
